about
‘Before Dawn’ is the first song to be released from Newcastle (Mulubinba) dream-pop duo Moonsign’s upcoming album, ‘Okay you first.’
‘Okay you first’ is a response to the feelings that arise when facing an uncertain future, an uncertain present. It deals with grief about climate change - a natural reaction, considering the damage that has been done to the world’s ecosystems, and the damage we are yet to face.
It’s easy to blame others when things go wrong. Or we blame ourselves for all our mistakes and shortcomings. But blame never gets you far.
‘Before Dawn’ is an invitation to think about who, or what we are responsible for. It’s also a reminder that we need to hold each other close. We need to care about each other. We’re all part of biodiversity. We belong to this place.
You want it all to stop
Could you stop yourself
Rewind our time here
And you'll see yourself
Not being who you thought you'd be
Not seeing so clearly
Who is to blame?
We did it all together
We did it all
Keep holding on
(Keep holding)
Keep holding on
(Keep holding)
Keep holding on
